the context

conduct company

Conduct Company is a wellness/fitness brand with a holistic approach to fitness and health. This case highlight covers the "CNDCT. Performance App"
The Challenge

The Conduct Company is one of our in-house skin-in-the-game projecst. This app was envisioned as a comprehensive platform for athletes, trainers, and coaches to design, implement, and track their strength and conditioning programs. The goal was to create a user-friendly, intuitive, and highly customizable tool that could cater to three main consumer groups: self-training athletes, trainers/coaches, and gyms.

Our Approach

To tackle this challenge, we employed three of our leading solutions:

  1. WellPal Ideation & Prototyping (WIP)™: We used our ideation and prototyping process to visualize the app’s concept, design its user interface, and create a prototype that could be used for user experience research and testing.

  2. WellPal Brand Navigator™: We developed a comprehensive brand strategy for The CNDCT. Performance App, defining its unique value proposition, mission statement, and target market. This strategy also included the design of a brand navigator model and the planning of the company’s extended solution scope beyond digital offerings.

  3. WellPal Signature Visuals™: We crafted a unique visual identity for The CNDCT. Performance App that resonated with the target audience and aligned with the overall brand architecture of Conduct Company.
The Result

The CNDCT. Performance App is now a strength and conditioning app live on both android and iOS.  It offers a unique human-in-the-loop approach to training. It caters to the needs of self-training athletes, trainers/coaches, and gyms, providing a comprehensive and customizable tool for periodized training programs.

Athletes can create personalized training programs based on their specific needs and goals, track their progress, and share their results. Trainers and coaches can easily create and manage training programs for their clients, while gyms can offer their members access to a professional-grade training program platform with their own branded portal.

The CNDCT. Performance App was the initial phase of Conduct Company’s physical wellness hubs, House of Persistence and House of Longevity, further expanding the wellness ecosystem.

This case study showcases the power of our holistic approach to brand development, from concept visualization and prototyping to brand strategy and visual identity design. Our work here demonstrates how our solutions can be used to create a compelling brand that resonates with the target audience and drives business success.

Benefit of a Designer and Developer Working Parallel from Start to Finish

The collaboration between a designer and a developer from the inception of a project is a powerful strategy that can significantly enhance the outcome. This approach allows for a seamless integration of design and functionality, fostering a holistic development process that ensures the final product is both aesthetically pleasing and technically robust.

Working with our senior software engineering partner, Vlad, we were able to bring CNDCT’s UI to life. Vlad’s expertise and our design acumen allowed us to iterate quickly, reducing the time between ideation and implementation. This symbiotic relationship enabled us to create a product that not only looks great but works flawlessly, providing an optimal user experience.

The app helps athletes and trainers to build individualized training programs and track progress in a periodization manner. This addresses the need for a convenient and effective way to plan and manage training programs.

  • For this app, the problem or need that it addresses is the need for a convenient and effective way to plan and manage training programs. Many athletes and trainers may struggle with creating and sticking to a training plan that is tailored to their specific goals and needs, and they may also have difficulty tracking their progress and making adjustments to their programs as needed.
  • This app provides a solution to these challenges by offering a range of features and capabilities that help users to create custom training programs, track their progress, and access personalized coaching and support.
  • By addressing this problem or need, the app provides value to its users and helps them to achieve their training goals more effectively.

Additionally, the app includes tools for tracking and monitoring progress, such as the ability to log workouts, set and track goals, and measure performance metrics. This allows users to see how their training is progressing over time and adjust their plan as needed.

The CNDCT. Performance App was built using a robust tech stack that included Dart/Flutter for cross-platform mobile app development, Swift for iOS-specific features, and Kotlin for Android-specific features.

The challenge with such a diverse tech stack was ensuring seamless integration and consistent performance across different platforms and devices. Our software engineer leveraged his expertise in these different languages and frameworks to ensure that the app was robust, responsive, and reliable, regardless of the platform or device it was being used on.

In addition to the app, we also developed a website for The Company and its subdivisions, using WordPress, custom CSS, and JavaScript. The website serves as a digital hub for the app, providing information about its features, benefits, and upcoming training program details, as well as a portal for user support and resources. It is also being used as a POC for the brand and its future sub-divisions for (strategic) partners.

One of the challenges we faced was creating a website that mirrored the app’s visual identity and user experience. To achieve this, we ensured that the website’s design and functionality were in line with the app’s. We also used custom CSS and JavaScript to create unique, interactive elements that enhanced the user experience and reinforced the brand’s identity.

In conclusion, the development of The CNDCT. Performance App involved a comprehensive approach that combined strategic brand development, intuitive app architecture, a robust tech stack, and a user-centric website. Despite the challenges we faced, our holistic approach and our team’s expertise allowed us to create a solution that not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations.
